Dune (2021): Part 1

Dune, officially titled Dune: Part One, is a 2021 American epic science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve. It is the first part of a two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert's acclaimed 1965 novel of the same name. The screenplay was co-written by Villeneuve, Jon Spaihts, and Eric Roth.

Plot Summary

The film follows Paul Atreides (played by Timothée Chalamet), a gifted young man born into a great destiny. He and his family are thrust into a conflict over the desert planet Arrakis, which is the only source of the universe's most valuable substance, melange (or "spice"). As Paul navigates the treacherous political landscape, he faces betrayal and must confront malevolent forces vying for control of Arrakis.
